The worldwide first LNG-operated survey vessel “ATAIR“ has floated in Kiel after a building period of 16 months. The vessel was built on behalf of the Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH). General contractor is FASSMER shipyard. Hull and superstructure as well as parts of the outfitting were constructed at GERMAN NAVAL YARDS KIEL. The survey vessel is planned to be used for wreck search and underwater surveying.

On August 3rd, 2018, GERMAN NAVAL YARDS KIEL (GNYK) signed an agreement with thyssenkrupp Marine Systems. Marine Systems as subcontractor of GNYK, will contribute to the development and construction of the multi-purpose combat vessel MKS 180. The NOBISKRUG‘s repair team docked the German Navy’s combat support vessel „FRANKFURT AM MAIN“(A 1412) type EGV 702 (so-called „Berlin-Class“) on the site of the sister shipyard GERMAN NAVAL YARDS Kiel.
