Comparing to the previous container solution, the new iMERZ is placed as a fixed deckhouse on the combat support ship (EGV), with advantages in terms of optimizing medical care processes and improved integration into the ship. Thus, the ship has again a complete "hospital" for the comprehensive medical care of the marine soldiers on the high seas. The "hospital" is equiped with two operating theatres, an X-ray room, a dental technology department, various laboratories and the latest medical technology.
