Besides the NOBISKRUG tug boat, the apprentices of the shipyard were in the main focus of the ceremony. “We would like to thank our apprentices for their excellent work. At the end, it was them having independently executed all tasks from design and building up to the commissioning under the companionship and support of all necessary departments” states Robert Stephan, project manager, pointing out a special feature of this new build project. Developed from the company’s need for a tug, the project had two important goals: firstly, NOBISKRUG fulfilled its educational mission. In real environment and in interdisciplinary interaction, the apprentice were able to use the theoretical knowledge from the vocational school in practice, improve it and develop it by experience. “At the same time our apprentices are now thoroughly familiar with their “BAGALUT” – which, of course, creates an important advantage for the tug’s maintenance” explains Stephan.
The second achieved goal was that, during the building process, the entire work-flow of the shipyard was questioned together with the internal processes and all interfaces. The gathered conclusions and established solutions will be directed into the complex new building projects of the superyacht builder NOBISKRUG.
The managing director, Holger Kahl shows his contention regarding the project and ads: “Today, we are full of pride – on one hand because of the result, the powerful “BAGALUT”, and on the other hand because of the work assignment of the project team, especially the NOBISKRUG’s young generation. They deserve our special gratitude”.
The project started on 30th of August 2015. After 17 months of design and construction, the launching took place on the 10th of April this year.
