German Navy’s “OSTE” receives maintenance at NOBISKRUG

The NOBISKRUG‘s repair team docked the German Navy’s fleet service ship „OSTE“ (A 52) type 422 at shipyard’s Dock 2 in Rendsburg.

During the shipyard stay, the approximately 83 m long reconnaissance ship of the German Navy will receive an extensive maintenance as well as a complete conservation service of the underwater hull, the superstructure of the vessel and its tanks. Additionally, a survey of the vessel’s condition will be provided and other minor maintenance works will be carried out.

“We are very pleased to welcome again a fleet service ship at our site in Rendsburg. “OSTE” as well as its sisters ships are old acquaintances of NOBISKRUG”, comments Bernd Wittorf, Director Refit & Repair, adding: “On one hand, this demonstrates the strong confidence that our customer places in our shipyard group and on the other hand it confirms our high quality of work.

We will certainly do our best to ensure that “OSTE” can restart the service in time and in perfect condition, offering its crew a safe and reliable platform for all their following tasks.

As part of the 1st submarine squadron (Einsatzflotille 1), the fleet service ship “OSTE” began its operational schedule in 1988. The vessel’s homeport is the naval base in Eckernförde.
